These are various bike routes that I've ridden in the past. Some for fun and some for other reasons

  1. 9/27/2014 - Oil Run - Run to Clinton County Motorsports for oil and then to Tim Horton's for lunch. 124 miles and about 4 hours.
  2. 10/19/2014 - FSO Meetup - Met 2 other former S40 owners for lunch at Augusta Irish Pub and a afternoon ride that included a trip on the ferry that runs between Augusta, KY and Higginsport, OH. 3 hours and 150 miles
  3. 11/25/2014 - November Ride - Just a chilly November ride to shake off the cobwebs; 1:30 and 60 miles
  4. 1/17/2015 - January Ride - 17.5 , :30; long way to get gas at 5 mile and Kellogg; too windy for anything else
  5. 3/9/2015 - March Warmup - 78.2; 1:45; a really nice day in March for a ride but the roads were nasty with salt dust, gravel and snow run off from winter
  6. 3/15/2015 - March Warmup #2 - 107.5; 2:15; a really nice day in March for a ride; roads in much better shape thanks to the spring rains earlier in the week
  7. 4/5/2015 - Easter Sunday - 109; 2:30; a really nice Easter Sunday for a ride; including a trip on the ferry that runs between Augusta, KY and Higginsport, OH

There is a huge gap since I got laid off in October of 2015 and had to move to Minnesota. I was a contract-to-hire (so no PTO). I've also switched to Bing Maps since they seem to be more accurate than Google is.

  1. 5/7/2016 - Bike to Hotel - 386; 5:52 - When I moved to MN, I was going to move my bike in a truck from Penske but I wouldn't have been able to unload it myself. So, I rode it instead. :) All stop are gas stations with the execption of the stop in Bloomington, IL which was a T/A Truck Stop where I met my sister for dinner.
  2. 5/8/2016 - Hotel to Apartment - 427; 622 - All stops are gas stations with the execption of the stop in Poynette which was at a Hardee's for lunch. The little jaunt on I90 was due to a trucker who wasn't paying attention and kept drifting into my lane. This made me misread the signs and I took I90 instead of I94. I made it about 30 miles before I realized I was going the wrong way. And since this was only my 2nd time doing this drive, I figured better safe than sorry. Luckily, it was nice riding day.
  3. 9/7/2017 - 2017 Biker Gang Day 1 - 646; 10:05; this is a trip to Southern IL to ride with the biker gang from OH. This is home to the hotel.
  4. 9/8/2017 - 2017 Biker Gang Day 2 - 189; 4:34; this is day 2 of the trip to Southern IL. This is a ride to Cave-In-Rock State Park and a ferry trip to KY for gas and lunch and then a loop along the OH river back to the hotel. It's a Google map since Bing was missing some of the stops.
  5. 9/9/2017 - 2017 Biker Gang Day 3 - 164; 3:27; Day 3
  6. 9/10/2017 - 2017 Biker Gang Day 4 - 10:10, 636 - the end of the trip to Southern IL to ride with the biker gang from OH. This is hotel to home.
  7. 6/22/2020 - Father' Day 2020 - 2:27; 112; Just a Father's Day ride to do Goodhue 7 (twice) before we moved too far away. :(
  8. 8/29/2020 - Fall Work Ride - 4:12, 223; a trip around Mille Lacs with the crew from work.
  9. 9/10/2020 - 2020 Biker Gang Day 1 - 5:37; 287; day 1 of the Fall 2020 Biker Game trip to the Harley Museum in Wisconsin. Afternoon rain. :(
  10. 9/11/2020 - 2020 Biker Gang Day 2 - 5:28; 256; day 2 of the Fall 2020 Biker Gang trip to the Harley Museum, Sprecher Brewery, a local place for lunch and then Hillcrest Park. It poured from Hillcrest Park until we got back to the hotel. :(
  11. 9/12/2020 - 2020 Biker Gang Day 3 - 3:30; 138; day 3 of Fall 2020 Biker gang trip to Dubuque, IA for a trip on the world's shortest, steepest, incline, lunch at a local pizza joint and a stop to look at a shot tower. Drizzled in the morning
  12. 9/13/2020 - 2020 Biker Gang Day 4 - 5:35; 337; back home and an almost perfect day for riding
  13. 9/19/2020 - Solo Fall Ride #1 - 1:39; 93; just a loop to enjoy a nice Saturday in September
  14. 9/24/2020 - Solo Fall Ride #2 - 2:16; 96; another loop to enjoy the fall colors and extremely nice September weather
  15. 5/15/2021 - Solo Spring Ride #1 - 3:18; 176; first long ride of the spring; massive amount of rain
  16. 5/22/2021 - Solo Spring Ride #2 - 2:26; 153; loop to get my butt ready for the spring biker gang trip

    17. I had to switch back to google maps since Bing appears to not keep history for very long. :( Thus, all of the bing maps are broken.

  17. 6/17/2021 - Biker Gang 2021 Attempt #1 - 675; 10:21; day 1 of what was supposed to be the spring biker gang trip. Chad had clutch issues in IL so we rode home
  18. 9/9/2021 - Biker Gang 2021 Day 1 - 508, 8:06; home to the hotel in Missouri
  19. 9/10/2021 - Biker Gang 2021 Day 2 - 7:26, 445; a trip to the Evel Knievel Museum, the Topeka Rainbow House, lunch at Fritz's where your food is delivered by model train and stop in Excelsior Springs which has a spa on the National Register of Historic Places. A long day made long since my cruise died part way through it. :(
  20. 9/11/2021 - Biker Gang 2021 Day 3 - 7:20, 377; a trip to Ha Ha Tonka State Park which has an abandoned castle, a trip to Weldon Springs Waste Dump which is a nuclear processing site that is now a park (that was closed :( ) and lunch at Sugarfire Smoke House which offers killer BBQ.
  21. 9/12/2021 - Biker Gang 2021 Day 4 - 8:03; 509; trip back home made longer due to the lack of cruise control. :(
  22. 6/16/2022 - Biker Gang 2022 Day 1 - 8:45; 565; me to the hotel. Had to repair the cruise in the hotel parking lot. :(
  23. 6/17/2022 - Biker Gang 2022 Day 2 Out - 2:53; 148; trip following Old Rt 66. Stops include Route 66 Visitors Center which is across the river from Times Beach, Meremac Caverns, lunch at Missouri Hick Bar-B-Que and Uranus Fudge Factory. Fun fact: this map is wrong. We actually drove through a ditch north of Cuba to dodge a traffic jam and Google doesn't have "We drive through a ditch" option.
  24. 6/17/2022 - Biker Gang 2022 Day 2 Back - 2:04; 128; trip up I44 back to the hotel with a stop for gas.
  25. 6/18/2022 - Biker Gang 2022 Day 3 - 6:59; 371; a day of riding with a stop at Big T & Momma D's Backwoods BBQ which was very good.
  26. 6/19/2022 - Biker Gang 2022 Day 4 - 8:36;562; a day made longer by 100+ degree heat and traffic jam south of Lakeville, MM. :(
  27. 6/15/2023 - Biker Gang 2023 Day 1 - 7:11;464; me to the hotel. A decent day for a ride that got hot as I moved south
  28. 6/16/2023 - Biker Gang 2023 Day 2 - 2:43;219; a visit to the Mark Twain Museum; lunch at Fat Boy's Diner which is actually across the river in the Two Rivers Marina in Rockport, IL; a stop at Jim Brown's Station and a giant Mark Twain Statue
  29. 6/17/2023 - Biker Gang 2023 Day 3 (out) - 3:05;184; Stops at Remember When Toy Museum, future birth place of James T Kirk in Riverside, IA and lunch at The General Store Pub
  30. 6/17/2023 - Biker Gang 2023 Day 3 (back) - 3:45;196; Quick trip after lunch to the National Motorcycle Museum which unfortunately is closing in September. Yet another victim of COVID. :( Then back to the hotel
  31. 6/18/2023 - Biker Gang 2023 Day 4 - 7:08;463; back home to Minnesota
  32. 07/30/2023 - Summer 2023 Ride - 2:07;104; a really long way to get money from the ATM!
  33. 09/08/2023 - RuneStone Attempt To - 152, 98; I was attempting to go the Runestone Museum in Alexandria, MN but road construction in St Cloud and on I-94 ensured I wasn't going to make it in time so I stopped and turned around.

  35. 02/22/2024 - Library Run - 0:21;13.4 - The long way to the library on a abnormally warm February Day.

  37. 06/14/2024 - Biker Gang 2024 Day 2, Part 1 - 2:46, 182 - Stops on Route 66 included Funk's Maple Sirup
  38. 06/14/2024 - Biker Gang 2024 Day 2, Part 2 - 1:55, 82.5 - Stops on Route 66 at Atlanta History Museum, Cozy Dog Drive In and Sugar Creek Covered Bridge
  39. 06/14/2024 - Biker Gang 2024 Day 2, Part 3 - 2:37, 139 - Stops on Route 66 include Pink Elephant Antique Mall, dinner at Salt and Smoke BBQ and dessert at Ted Drewe's Frozen Custard
  40. 06/15/2024 - 2024 Biker Gang Day 3 - 3:50, 209 - Visits to The Space Museum and Grissom Center where the VR experience of the ISS is worth seeing, Bonne Terre Mine and lunch at Missouri Hick Bar-B-Que again!

  42. 09/04/2024 - Runestone Museum Try 2 To - 2:34, 141 - On Try 2, I made it to the Runestone Museum in Alexandria, MN. It's worth seeing if you have any interest in Viking history.

  44. 05/25/2025 - I really didn't mean to ride this far - 3:40, 210. The first non-work ride of 2025. I really didn't mean to ride this far but I didn't realize how few routes got me home from Spooner until I got there. It was still a fun ride.
  45. 09/04/2025 - 2025 Biker Gang Day 1 - 7:44, 478. This is me to the hotel
  46. 09/05/2025 - 2025 Biker Gang Day 2 Part 1 - (3:14, 169). Mostly a day of riding with lunch at Rick's Crispy Chicken, a stop at the Wheels of Time Museum which is dedicated to all things transportation and stop at Dead Man's Curve on Route 66.
  47. 09/05/2025 - 2025 Biker Gang Day 2 Part 2 - 0:25, 26.4. This is Deadman's Curve to the hotel. I had "Avoid Highways" checked for the first map.
  48. 09/06/2025 - 2025 Biker Gang Day 3 Part 1 - 2:14, 93.7. Stops on Route 66 include Dargan Park Seasons of Life Statues in Pontiac, a Standard Oil Station that is on the National Register of Historic Places in Odell, the Crazy 80s Car Museum which is in Dwight and dedicated to ordinary cars of the 80, Ambler's Texaco which is also on the National Rgeister of Historic Places, Godley Mining Musuem which was closed :(, back to Dwight for lunch at Old Route 66 Family Restaurant, a tribute to the Ellwood Arsenal and a visit to theHistoric Joliet Prison
  49. 09/06/2025 2025 Biker Gang Day 3 Part 2 - (1:14, 66.7). Back to the hotel from Joilet. 22-40 US-52 is because my GPS didn't know the I80 ramp was under construction and the other stop is a BP Station
